get rid of....

So it's officially 2008! Praise God for times and seasons. It was fantastic praying in the New Year at 'The Call' in Kansas City. Over 15,000 passionate voices worshiping Jesus as the clock ticked 12:01. Very cool.

We had a good time at the onething Conference (which included The Call). This was our second year. This year we took 5 other young people with us. Besides the blessing of hearing some fiery preaching and worship, we got to all know each other a little more. Maybe a little more than anyone should know another? Nah, just kidding. It is fun how bonding, spending 48 hours together in car and hotel room, is. Memories in the making.

To read about our memory-maker last year, click HERE. This year our memory is driving around, wanting to eat something more than fast food on New Year's Eve. Only it didn't really occurr to us {until then} that lots of people want to eat out on New Year's Eve. Yeah, 3 hour waits. No good. After much ado, we ended up at Panera Bread. Good, but not the most memorable last meal of 2007. Our consolation was icecream at Maggie Moo's. Yummmmeee.

I've only written down one verse for my life for 2008. No other goals or anything so far. I don't think I'll jump into a one-year bible reading program right away. I'm going to focus on Malachi for a while I think. I may read through in 90 days later in the year (did this in 2006). Oh, I did order myself 'The Message' though. It's pink. ;)

A dear lover-of-Jesus man of 104-ish took the step into eternity last night. We will head 'home' for the funeral this weekend. So it will be another few days before I feel like I'm settling into a routine. The kids don't go back to school until Tuesday so life wouldn't be 'normal' until then anyway, I guess. Fun for sure, but not routinely normal.

A verse for my life this year...

"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:31-32

Thank You for grace to get rid of sin in my life Jesus.
And help me to walk, immersed and overflowing in Your love.

Hey girl, glad you had a fabulous time. And you even got to see our fire guy! He's so pumped he was yelling with excitement in the phone on the way home! They had a hard time finding food also. Even stood in line at pizza hut and just as it was their turn, they ran out of dough! What's up with that!? 2008...we must live closer to Jesus. Love you.

excellent verse, Father is definitely calling us all into a deeper love for sure, my verse became an entire chapter, 1 Corinthians 13 for the year 2008. My daughter and i have a pact with each other with 1 Corinthians 13.
