Sheesh, has it really been 5 days since I last posted? It's been a fun, busy week. The highlight being the 36 hours we spent in KC.
After the kids' half day of school on Thursday being reduced to just a 3 hour day (due to Girls' State Softball), we decided they could go ahead and skip the short day of school. Then they had Friday off, so we had planned on visiting reallyniceday and her beautiful fam in KC and spending some quality in the Prayer Room. All that: accomplished!
What should have been a 4 hour-ish trip down to KC took us about 5. We called it 'traveling leisurely'. Hehe. Upon arrival, reallyniceday's fab hubby took on their 5 kids and our 3 for a couple hours on Thursday afternoon so My Beloved and I could soak in the Justice Prayer Room (new addition) while his wife was 'on duty' as a singer. Then the 2 men spent some time in the prayer room following a delicious supper prepared by reallyniceday. After the guys got back, we headed to our hotel room. Having an explainable amount of energy (french press anyone?), I headed to the Prayer Room at 11pm and stayed until about 1:30am.
My Beloved got his next prayer time in on Friday at 6am. When he got back we took the girls over to hang out with us at the Prayer Room for about an hour. While grabbing a coffee at the IHOP coffee shoppe, we met the 'rest of the family' of a great Aussie man we had met through reallyniceday's fam. He pulled a man in who is gifted in hearing from the Lord for others and this guy prophesied some encouraging and exciting words over Mitch (first names are no longer taboo...) and I and the girls too. Back to the house for lunch, then we dumped the kids on r.n.d's hubby again, while Mitch and I and r.n.d (better not reveal others' first names) went back to IHOP.
The Aussie pulled some strings and got us into a 'prophetic room' for some more encouragement from the Lord. We connected with a hip German and 2 fun guys from Poland during that afternoon as well. So cool to visit with people from the Nations who are passionate about the Lord {and, in this case, getting cars through our 'hobby' of used car dealings :o)}.
We jetted back to r.n.d's to grab the rest of the crew and pick up some Mickey D's for the kiddos and headed to the service at the church. Afterwards, we visited with the hip German and his beautiful wife, the Aussie's and my favorite American fam - then grabbed a late supper for Mitch and I back at the coffee shop and got on the road....at 10:45pm.
Mitch and I took turns keeping our weary eyes open to arrive home at 3am. All totally worth it!

Wow, I have heard wonderful things about the IHOP but never been there myself.
What a blessing!

Sounds like an awesome weekend. I think I could take a vacation to visit an IHOP. It sounds like the Disneyland of prayer!
It always takes us longer to get anywhere with our kids too. Potty stops, snack stops, pulling the car over to threaten "don't make me get out of this car". I prefer air travel. ~Karlie
Unfortunately the kids were not the reason for the slow-going. Latte stop - next stop (2 min later) stop to micro the lukewarm (if even) latte just purchased - lunch.....
Glad you guys had such an awesome weekend!
