Back a few months ago there was much internet 'talk' of "The Way I See It" campaign of Starbuck's. Email pleas to boycott (if you weren't already) the international coffee shop giant flooded inboxes. Finding such talk asinine, I voiced my opinion HERE.
This morning, My Beloved and I were frequenting our 'semi-local' Starbuck's and as usual, I promptly read "The Way I See It" on the back of my tall caramel macchiatto. Let me share...
You can't lead the people, if you don't love the people. You can't save the people, if you don't serve the people.
Quote from a nationally known pastor or at least a down-right patriotic conservative? Ah no. A university professor at Princeton. By george, the heathen know more about good leadership than most pastors. Who woulda thought?

not being a coffee fan (I know, I know...the sacrilege of it all) so I have absolutely no clue what you're even talking about.
But great quote. hee hee
Enjoy the innocence of it all. :)
Sad but true.

Have you seen the "make your own caramel macchiatto" http://www.geocities.com/connorbd/coffee/caramel.html
Enjoy!
Shari
No, I hadn't seen that particular recipe but we do make our own lattes often and I often have my own version of a caramel macchiatto. Thanks!
I remember that post; it made me like you a whole whole whole lot.
For real.
And I love the word asinine! :O)
I love that quote - it mine for the month... or year... however long it takes me to transform my mind (insert sad smile)
Great quote! I really enjoy "The Way I See It". Even when I don't agree, it's always something to think or talk about.
Hmmm, seems to be a little on the "strategically placed" scale, too. After taking such a hit (or did they?) I am sure it was a way to "talk back".
I, however, LOVE my Starbucks and the only beef I have with them is that they keep raising their already ridiculously high prices. BUT, I keep going back...they know they have us by the nose. ;)
I don't know that Starbuck's took a 'hit'- never heard. I don't really think it was strategically placed. I think "The Way I See It" was never leaning towards the 'left'. I just think the 'right' gets spooked any time someone from the 'left' voices their opinion. Just my thought....
One of the best God epiphanies I've ever had was prompted by the words of an agnostic Liberal. Her comments were cluelessly beautiful, and contradictory to her belief system. ~Karlie
I was going to say "sad but true", and then I saw that someone had already said it. So instead I'll just say "ditto" to what Shari said!
