a new season begins

This is sorta a semi-blog post. Meaning, it's just a short pop in to make sure I don't lose my couple readers. :)

Our 8 days away from home was awesome and insane. We left home Sunday afternoon afternoon after cleaning up 'Church in the Park'. We stayed at my mom's then Mitch & I continued driving west so we could fly out of Denver on Monday afternoon. The kids stayed with my parents.

We got to Florida Monday night, checked into our hotel and found a nice Italian place to eat a late supper. We spent the next 3 days on the beach and Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at the revival meetings. Jesus really met me on Tuesday night. I went away feeling like the woman who said, "Come see a Man who told me everything I ever did." It was amazing how Jesus revealed the secrets of my heart....to me.

Wednesday night was Mitch's night. It was a transitional night in the life of the Lakeland Outpouring, as Todd Bentley turned things over to Pastor Strader and Ignited Church. Mitch was melting in God's presence most of the night.

Thursday we decided to just hang out on the beach and enjoy not rushing to a meeting that night. That was awesome. We even enjoyed a walk on the beach at sunset before heading back to our hotel. I have an amazing man.

Friday we did some shopping...probably too much. We ended up buying not one but 2 more suitcases to put all our stash in. Not too big of deal for flying. But a huge deal for fitting 8 suitcases in a Grand Am after we picked up the kids on Saturday!

So, yeah Friday evening we flew into Denver and stayed at the Sheraton in downtown Denver. This was MY deal. We cut our time in Florida 1 day short and I got to chose a nice hotel in Denver. I did good, if I say so myself. We were on the keyed-access 'club floor' and had an amazing continental breakfast. Not your traditional Holiday Inn waffles. We walked around 16th street both that night and the next morning before we headed out to retrieve the kiddos.

Saturday night we went to a service at our 'home church' with one of Todd Bentley's associates. Then out to Perkins. That was our downfall. After getting back to my parent's house at 1:30am I still had to figure out how to get clean, dirty and new clothes shoved into 8 suitcases and those shoved into our trunk. I finally crawled into bed at 3am - and then up at 5:15 to get ready and drive 2 hours for Mitch to preach at a friend's church. Great service that morning - that went long of course. We had a yummy lunch followed by a quick nap before heading 25 minutes to a little church for another service. We finally crawled into bed about midnight-ish or something.

We did a little shopping yesterday before heading home, only because MY KIDS got blessed with $45 for THEM from a couple different people at the two different churches. Our home is now inhabited by 6 Webkins. When we got home yesterday afternoon, I got through most of the laundry. Thank God for a decent {fast} washer and dryer.

Today I did $350 worth of grocery shopping to replenish the cupboards, have school lunch makings and to feed our youth group tonight. Tomorrow is our last day of summer vacation, as the kids go back to school on Thursday....all of them this year. So, a new season will begin in just 36 hours. I'm so not ready.

{And this ended up being MUCH longer than I had planned. :)}
