the drive from hell leads to the door of hope

So I haven't put the internet 'away' but I've been away. I do think I have a new schedule for this season though, that will help eliminate wasted time at 'the screen'.

~If I have time, I'll check emails and/or blogs before taking the kids to school.
~Until 11am, will be my 'basking time' - reading, praying, worshiping, studying, solitude. I'll include Robin some in this time, if she's home.
~Then from 11-2 - I work. Either, at the cafe (my paying job) or at home. Those 3 hours are to WORK. I have plenty of housework, projects, church business to keep me busy. I'll get a bit of computer time in before picking the kids up from school.
~Then....well, then it's a blur. Life will take whatever turn it needs to after I pick up the kids from school.

At this point, I'm not feeling like God is calling me to close the laptop lid but we'll see how the next week goes.

My day of solitude was blissful - following the drive from hell. Blowing snow (like white-out conditions) on highways you've never driven is not fun. But I slogged on and made it safely to the retreat center (which is fabulous) and had a wonderful day. This will definitely be an {ir}regular occurrence.

I got little nuggets all day and my word for the day was definitely 'door of hope'. By accident, I listened to a message by PBZ titled this with the text being Hosea 2:14. (Oh, and he starts this message reading Psalm 42 accompanied by the piano and violin. Wow. Very....sacred.) Then, one of the gals who met me there gave me a word right off the bat - Hosea 2. OK God, I'm listening. It was a good, good day.

And now it's practically Friday. Sheesh, where do the days go? Tomorrow I'll work at the cafe. Saturday, it's PARTY TIME. My middle princess is turning 7 on Sunday and we are going roller-skating (yeah, baby). And sheesh, forget where do the days go - where do the YEARS go? My beloved middle child is a nut-bar yet a tender-hearted sweetie. I'm sure I'll expound over here soon.

For tonight - I'm outta here.

Sounds like a good plan, girl! I'm not commenting as much as I used to in an effort to skim off some computer time, but I do feel badly about that. I just love my bloggy friends. :)

I have been debating cutting back even more...wondering if my season isn't coming to an end in the blog world.

Glad your organizing has helped you get things in order...that is always a good thing.

A Word from the Lord is normally good too...

Yep. I agree. Closing the laptop can open up time that we forgot we had!!! I've been thinking about the same thing. I don't want to miss my girls growing up (mine our at home) b/c of working on the 'puter.

I love your time of "basking"!!!!!

Girl, I hear ya loud and clear. Stick to your guns though because the draw back "for only a minute" can really bite you.

I haven't had much computer time myself lately. This public school thing keeps me busy! I often find that when I spend large amounts of time online, my house falls apart... QUICKLY. Everything has it's balance. ~K
