a 10 minute race

I'm going to attempt to post in about 10 minutes. It's a race - here we go....

Saturday finished up our church's time of seeking. Someone commented about what I was fasting. I ate fruits, veggies, nuts and berries with little coffee but much tea for 5 days. Thursday night, we had an amazing night in prayer and after coming home, I felt 'released' from my fast. I still didn't have any sugary things through the weekend. Yay me. Our week was really good. So far, I don't have an abundant amount of revelation but I trust that God will honor the week we spent seeking and unfold things as He chooses.

My time with my 'spiritual mom' was great. We just chatted about....everything. God things, mommy things, me things, lots of things. We'll meet again in a week for an all-day prayer retreat. Just her and a friend of hers and me. (I'm the imposer) They found a Catholic retreat center that she says is amazing and empty. As in, we have the whole place to ourselves and can just rest in God however we chose for the entire day. Sounds lovely, eh? (By the way, we're not Catholic and I will probably be viewed as a heretic {by some of my acquaintances} for even stepping foot in a Catholic center but whatever.)

This week....well, it started off yesterday with me working as a substitute para for the kindergarten class at the girls' school. I was asked if I could be put on the sub list last fall. For a couple months, I got no calls. Then about November-December, I got gobs of calls but had to say 'no' every time. So when they called last Friday to ask about Monday, how could I say anything but yes? It was a good day. I gained a refresher of respect for teachers (public school and homeschooling mamma's) for the exhaustion that I slumped into the car with at 3:30. The fact that I didn't know what I was doing or where I was going all day played into that I'm sure. I really wish that I could have 'shadowed' a para just once before being thrown into that position but I guess they just think we mom's can do anything. :) Anyways, I'm happy to be on the sub list, I don't think I want a full time job. And neither does My Beloved - he missed me.

Alright my 10 minutes is up by 2 minutes so I'm off to work.

How exciting to have a spiritual mentor. Good deal! I am excited that you got to have time away.

I have a friend who regularly goes away to a catholic monastery to pray, and she is in no way catholic but it is a good quiet place to go.

Have a great week.

I'm excited to hear how your time at the center goes! Sounds like fun...and who cares that it's Catholic. I went to a Catholic church once while visiting England that was more on-fire than most churches here.
