The latest tag around is a pretty good one. ConservaChick brought me into the game. So here are 8 Random Things about My Marriage...
1) The most unique thing about My Beloved and I is that we are 15 1/2 years apart. We recommend it.
2) We met at the end of January 1997 and were officially engaged on March 3 of the same year and then married on June 14 of the same year.
3) Though our official engagement wasn't until March, we knew within our first conversation that we were going to marry or never talk to each other again. He was older and didn't want to mess around with the whole dating scene and I was 'not allowed' to date.
4) Because God divinely put us together and divinely footed the wedding bill, we spent less than $1000 (probably closer to $500) on EVERYTHING for our wedding....dress, rings, flowers, photos, decor. And it wasn't no shabby celebration.
5) We didn't have a TV for the first year of our marriage. Sooo, we played WarCraft on the computer and Yahtzee all the time. My Beloved will never play Yahtzee again. :o)
6) We didn't kiss until our wedding, when our Pastor said, "You may kiss the bride!" (Then we went and made out for 15 minutes. ;o>)
7) My Beloved is exactly the dark-haired-blue-eyed-worship-leader I asked God for.
8) My Beloved was on a 40 day fast when we met - so our marriage is perfect. Just kidding....about the perfect part I mean. (He went on another the next year when I was preggo with #1 child....not recommended)
9) We believe God amazingly put us together because we can do more for the Kingdom of God together than we ever could apart. We are committed to one goal - To know God and to make His name famous.
10) My marriage advice, that I've never given but always wanted to, to young couples is...Husbands, take the kids a couple hours a week to give worn-out mamma a break and Wives, give your husband sex at least twice a week. It's the 2+2 theory....and it seems to work.

Yahtzee!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry...couldn't resist.
Enjoyed the post.
Great advice. It must be Nebraskan instinct ;)
And yes, you guys are perfect together. Now what's gonna happen with fast #3? Great stuff!
Love the 2+2 theory!! :)
The 2+2 theory is great... and SO true! 15 minutes??? Wow, that must have been a bit interesting for the "audience". I have a friend here locally who has about the same age span as you two, and it works beautifully for them as well! He's also a worship leader! Must be a good mix! ~Karlie
good advice... i had the last two down, i'll have to let hubby know about the other!
ConservaChick: no audience for the 15 minutes. that was our 'get away' in the park before heading right back to the church for the reception.
Love the 2 + 2 theory. :-) Your story is so cool. Enjoyed your post.
Thanks for sharing...its fun to get to know you better.
I was imagining some old person having a heart attack at your ceremony, as the passion erupted. Glad you snuck away and didn't have to go to a funeral right after your nuptials!
May your passion continue...rock on girlie!
