the easy button

I'm sitting here at, what must qualify for one of the most beautiful Christian campgrounds in our state. Yet, I'm sitting on a couch with a laptop and wireless internet. The best of both worlds?

My Beloved and I brought 6 of our youth for an overnight retreat with another [bigger] youth group. You never know what being a leader or sponser is going to require with these things but sheesh, these guys know how to do a retreat! They brought in a Master's Commission team to do the whole thing - including bunking with the kids - so here we are in our hotel-esque room, chillin', while they're all out playing games. Someone pressed the Easy Button.

No, seriously we haven't bailed on the kids the whole weekend but they really do have everything taken care of so we're not needed to be involved in every detail. Very nice. The sessions have been really awesome. This guy knows how to connect with kids. In fact, he is a guy I knew from retreats and stuff growing up...I mean we were growing up at the same time. And now, he's the guy in charge. It's fun to see people fulfilling their God-given destiny.

At the bottom of these hills we're in, is a small town but it does have a drive through coffee shop so I think while the kids are enjoying the gym later on - My Beloved and I are going to grab a latte. Like, I said, the Easy Button.

Now that's the way to do a youth retreat. Instead of up all night, wear yourself out ministry it's drive through latte's and reasonable hours. Sounds Great!

I love Master's Commission kids...sorry, young adults. I must be getting old. Our group at church is always so pumped and energized to work. Love that!

Nah, none of my own offspring. Thank God for good friends to keep my little ladies - 2 nights.
