all i could say was, hello

Enjoying a rare evening at home. Sigh. I've got sugar cookies in the oven, coffee in the coffee pot and "An Affair to Remember" about to pop in the DVD player. I've never seen that movie and I thought, in this Valentine's season, I ought not let another year go by without seeing such a famous love story movie.

Earlier, I was pondering a verse I'm teaching from at a women's conference in a month and felt a God-excitement rise up in me. Here's Isaiah 60:1-3 in the Amplified, I love it.

Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you -
rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!

For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you [O Jerusalem], and His glory shall be seen on you.

And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

So incredible. So timely. So God-like.

I haven't seen that movie either. I watched "Love Story" a few years ago for the same reason. Terribly sad!! I like love stories that end happily, you know? One of my all-time favorites is "While You Were Sleeping". I make Jer watch it with me at least once a year. :-)

The movie was great - it ended happily! My husband even told me he might get into these old movies. :o)
