I had a Ladies Fellowship Night tonight at church. Basically it's a night of food, fellowship and I usually have a brief teaching. Tonight I had a 'power' teaching on prayer. Fighting, forceful, the violent take it by force type stuff. God kinda rearranged the evening.
We had a gal who is newer to church and hadn't been to one of these before. She hadn't met too many of the other ladies so they all introduced themselves to her, etc. It was a good time of true fellowship but it took a long time. So I did a brief synopsis of what I had and then we actually spent time praying for each other. God is awesome!
I found another book to put on my 'to read' list. It's not a new book but one I've never read before, "The Complete Works of E.M. Bounds on Prayer".
Here's a quote that I was going to read tonight...
"God's church is a militant host. Its warfare is with unseen forces of evil. God's people compose an army fighting to establish his kingdom in the earth. Their aim is to destroy the sovereignty of Satan, and over its ruins, erect the kingdom of God, which is 'righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.' This militant army is composed of individual soldiers of the cross, and the armor of God is needed for its defense. Prayer must be added as that which crowns the whole."
Mmmm, good stuff.

That quote reminds me of Psalm 149:5-9. We were just talking last night about the government of God being declared and established in prayer. Winning the battle "in the air" before it's won on the ground. Good stuff. I love Psalm 149!
