intricately woven

Don't you just love seeing how God has led you (or others)? Looking back over a period of your life and seeing that God has intricately woven together events for His glory? Oh, I do.

As I was sitting at a "Joining Generations" Conference planning meeting last night with Julaine Christensen, I was telling how 'I got there'...

Julaine came to our church YEARS ago when I was still a young teen. Her ministry really centered around the way she led worship until God's presence fell. Being a budding worship leader (at the age of 16) and almost daily spending HOURS at the keyboard just giving my heart to Jesus, I wanted to 'be' Julaine. At that time, and still today, Julaine has a team that goes with her pretty much everywhere she ministers. The team's faces have changed but they are still 'Julaine's team'. I wanted to be a part of that team. Well, through the fact that I didn't have a car, any money or permission to have a job - I was not going to be a part of that team.

Today, probably 12 years later - I am part of Julaine's team - her conference leadership team. I didn't ask my way in, actually I came very hesitantly, almost forced in. Becoming 'pastor's wife' a year and a half ago was the set up. I very cautiously became part of the 'altar worship' team last Spring. Last night I was asked to teach one of the workshops next March. I was flabbergasted.

Worship is where I'm comfortable but I find myself resisting being put in that box. I know God is much bigger than that. I want to be used and accomplish ALL that God has written in His book for my life. Wow, that's uncomfortable. That involves tremendous stretching. But it's good, because God gets His glory!

I look back and see God's creative hand, organizing, placing, weaving. This is a small part of His intricate work in my life but this small piece is amazing to me. Brian Zahnd has a really tremendous story on his blog this morning about how God peiced together some events in his life yesterday. You most likely have a story, maybe you haven't seen it as such but if you will look through God's eyes, you will see how He is wanting to make your life an incredible peice of art for His Glory!
