A couple posts ago I received a rebuke for my blog not living up to it's name. I suppose it's true. It's more a state of mind I live in than what EVERY ONE of my posts is about. This particular post does not fit my blog's title...so shoot me.
We just finished watching "Day After Tomorrow". We (well, maybe I) had forgotten we'd seen it and I got it from Netflix. When the movie was about 3/4 of the way over, and after listening to my husband constantly "make fun" of the very obvious political story line, I remembered the ending.....the most "politically correct" line of all times...."I've never seen the air so clear". Puke, puke, gimme a break.
Don't get me wrong, clear air is good. But I think my young daughter gave some great insight the other day. I was explaining that the earth is about 6,000 years old, that God has always been and other mysteries that no one really can explain. She was astonished at the age of the earth and said, "Then, how come it looks so good?" Really, now how come it does look so good - it's God's established cycle of renewing life - totally cool.

Wow, I'm glad the blog police aren't over at HSB or I'd be shot, too.
I agree that is the stupidest line on the movie. I guess what the politically correct watchers don't think about is that if that really did happen, most of us wouldn't be the surviving in the library burning books. We'd have drown or got sucked up in tornados or froze to death. The air will definately smell different. Especially when all the frozen corpses start thawing.
