i'm not stupid

I'm not big into studying the end times, never have been. I think people can devote their whole life and time to it and never DO what we are called to do - reach the lost. BUT I'm not stupid and I can "perceive the times". With everything that's going on in our world - something is definately "up". Check out this BLOG for an incredible insight into the world happenings.

While the anxiety "in the air" could produce fear, I've been delving into Psalms and found so many promises that I cannot fear. Here's a few verses that have stuck out to me so far...oh, I'm reading from the Amplified Version so verses are wordier - in a good way.

Ps. 9:9 "The Lord also will be a refuge and a high tower for the oppressed, a refuge and stronghold in times of trouble (high cost, destituition, and desperation)."

Ps. 66:12 "...we went through fire and through water, but You brought us out into a broad, moist place [to abundance and refreshment and the open air]."

Ps. 75:3 "When the earth totters, and all the inhabitants of it, it is I who will poise and keep steady it's pillars. Selah - pause and calmly think of that!"

As the Psalms bring perspective into Who our God is and how He takes care of the righteous, the New Testament brings an urgency into our task at hand. I lay my hand even more diligently to the plow.

Matthew 9:37-38 "...The harvest is indeed plentiful but the laborers are few. So pray to the Lord of the harvest to force out and thrust laborers into His harvest."

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people's conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance."

I could preach a rebuttle to anyone who says "numbers don't matter to God" from that last verse but not today....

I have in the past felt fear and rather depressed and the depravity of the world... etc.

I was taught or picked up on, which I am not sure, that the world would just get worse and worse until Jesus came back, and our job was to just persever until the end.

BUT I don't think that is all true!! I think there is much victory happening, and God's Kingdom is advancing, and there is MUCH to hopeful and joyful over. And DEFINITELY nothing to fear!!

Well said.
