In case anyone was wondering, it is possible to eat too many chocolate-dipped strawberries in a 24 hour time period. Despite being privy to that bit of information, we did have a nice family Valentine's dinner last night.
Our menu was 2 kinds of pasta with 2 kinds of sauce, asparagus, Parmesan puffs, bruschetta, and for dessert, chocolate cake and the overeaten strawberries. Fun times. I wrote out love notes for each member of the family - giving them each a portion of scripture from Song of Solomon. It's never too early to teach these princesses that they have a Prince that is totally enraptured with them. Mitch emailed each of us to tell us where he had hidden our individual gifts. Oh, that was after we had all come home to roses. Yep, he gave each of us girls our own rose. How fun for a 4 year old to get her first rose from Daddy.
So that was the family friendly Valentine's Day. Mitch and I had our own time on Wednesday night. We had dinner at a fun steakhouse/brewery and then caught a movie. Simple, but all my hubby's idea and that is THE best date. And we came home to a quiet house since the babysitter put them all to bed. Yay.
Tonight the festivities continue with Mitch taking the oldest two to a Daddy-Daughter Date Night. It's hosted by a local youth center. He took Jaci last year and they had fun eating and dancing. Robin and I may head to McDonald's since we're not invited. :) I will post photos of my lovely threesome in their semi-formal attire later tonight.
Happy Weekend everyone!

I love it!! I'm going to have Jet read this so he can take notes for later on in life (not too many years down the road...like next year. *grin*) when all his girls would love having Valentines surprises.
A daddy and his girls...there's nothing like it.
Oh that sounds wonderful! I LOVE the roses from Daddy. :) What wonderful memories they'll have!
